MISSION

We aim to support the UAE Vision 2021 to reach the average of 3 traffic accident deaths per 100,000 people through.

We introduce to the UAE our Seatbelt Convincer, where you can mimic an 8kmph car crash to understand the importance of wearing your car seatbelt. Experience the surprising force generated with a low speed collision to gain respect for the benefit a seatbelt can provide. Share your experiences with your friends and family so everyone in the UAE can say “I am convinced”, and let’s save lives together.

The seatbelt convincer arrived in 2017 when the UAE unveiled the new traffic law regarding vehicles and seat belts. In the UAE, road injuries are one of the leading causes of death for children. Two out of every three fatally injured children die due to road traffic crashes.

New UAE traffic law comes into force:The UAE’s amended federal traffic law came into effect on 1 July 2017. The new regulations aim to further protect the lives of road users and reduce traffic casualties from about 6 per 100,000 people to 3 per 100,000 as per Vision 2021. Road safety is of the utmost importance to us at DHL especially given that our vehicles and couriers are constantly on the roads across the UAE. The Chevrolet seatbelt convincer demonstration furthermore reinforced the importance of wearing a seatbelt and more importantly the consequences of not. Frequent education surrounding road safety is key and a must for businesses such as ours within the logistics sector.

Al Ghandi Auto partnered with us at the Jumeirah Spring Fair family fair and provided their "I am convinced" seat belt convincer/ simulator for families to experience the impact of a collision and how the seat belt ensures safety and saves lives.

It was an important and very useful learning, especially for families and children to learn from experiencing the same.

As a family fair with many families participating we felt that the convincer would be a great addition to the fair and we were proved right by the positive feedback we received from many attendees.

We would really appreciate Al Ghandi Auto for helping us spread this message for family safety and well being.

Dubizzle Family Day

We partnered with Al Ghandi Auto in December 2017 at the dubizzle annual Christmas party to educate the dubizzle staff and their families on the importance of wearing a seat-belt while driving - the seat-belt convincer, provided for free by Al Ghandi Auto, provided a safe, easy and fun way to remind everyone on the importance of the seat-built in the car!

Besides the fact that it was a hassle-free process getting it to the event, thanks to Al Ghandi Auto team who took care of that & provided support on the ground throughout the whole day, the seat-belt convincer enabled the dubizzlers to experience the actual force generated during a 5-10 mph collision. After this experience, everyone realized the value of the restraint provided by the seat belt and gain a new respect for the protection that seat belts can provide.

I highly recommend for all brands to include the seat-belt convincer in their activations, because it worked well for us, and now we are pretty sure that every dubizzler is aware of the importance to wear a seat belt while they are driving.

ABOUT OUR CONVINCER

The Seat Belt Convincer is an easy-to-use educational tool that allows riders to experience force, up to five times their body weight, similar to that of a 8-16 kmph crash.

The Convincer was developed to educate the general public of how beneficial the use of seat belts can be even when involved in a low speed collision.

The passenger enters the carriage at the top of the slide and buckles into the seat. The operator then releases the carriage and gravity pulls the carriage forward reaching a speed of approximately 8 kilometers per hour before colliding with the bumpers at the front of the system. The Convincer allows the rider to experience the surprising amount of force generated with such a low speed collision and to gain respect for the benefit that a seat belt can provide.

OPERATION

So, how does it work? To begin, the rider must sit in the Convincer and put on the seat belt. Once the rider is properly fastened in the seat belt and its fitment is double-checked, the operator rotates the lever from the "return" position to the "convince" position. The secured rider slides down the track and collides with the front bumpers, safely experiencing a simulated crash. After impact, the rider exits the machine at the bottom. The Convincer is then returned to the top of the carriage in preparation for the next rider.
